While pregnant with my first child, I diligently sought out any and all products that would make my life
easier with an infant. I experimented with many items, some worked and others failed miserably, make
sure to keep receipts parents. Through my research I had compiled much useful information which I
then would relay to family, friends, and sometimes even complete strangers. I could not stand by
in the baby aisles of various stores and watch others make the same mistakes I had made countless
times before, crazy lady chasing strangers in aisle 4! You name it, I have tried it and more than
one...diaper bags, strollers, car seats, baby monitors, etc.
By the time my second child was born 5 years later, lucky for me, all the "must have" baby gear had changed dramatically. I was in heaven! Again, I was in research mode looking for all new products to make my life easier while balancing family and home. I became the local baby guru and actually had a following. Hence, the idea for my new venture, Blue Skye Baby Consulting & Design.
Shawn Kiraly Corry has a BS in Human Ecology with an emphasis on Child and Family Studies. She was a director of child care centers, a home visitor for CMACAO Head Start, a consultant placing nannies with perspective families all over the country, and volunteered as a coordinator for League Against Child Abuse. She resides in Columbus, Ohio with her husband, Jeff, and their two boys, Austin and Brock.
